An existing boathouse, coarse in design and valuable only for its lakeside sitting, was structurally stabilized, then completely made over into an idiom appropriate to this pristine setting.

Stout materials emphasize permanence, while the natural qualities of those materials help merge the building into its thickly wooded site.
