Our Mission

Founded in 1992, KEE Architecture has a diverse portfolio in architecture, interior design, and urban planning. We pursue an architecture of ideas, soundly executed and thoroughly serviced. Our method is centered on the needs of the client, on developing appropriate architectural solutions and on building within clients means and schedules. At KEE, we believe architecture and design should be functional and efficient, as well as beautiful and stunning to the viewer.

Who We Are

  • David Ewanowski AIA, a founding partner of KEE Architecture, became interested in how buildings were built before knowing that architecture was a profession.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, he received training in landscape architecture at UW-Madison while recognizing that architecture was his true calling. After earning a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Dave returned to practice in Madison where he is still striving to better understand Landscape + Architecture.

Dave enjoys working collaboratively with public and private clients to help them envision, build and succeed. He also bicycles, sails and travels.

  • Jan Eymann WRID, is one of the three founding partners of KEE Architecture and a graduate of the University of Iowa interior design program. Her background in both commercial and residential projects influences her towards designing spaces that are comfortable, timeless, expressive and inclusive of the unique characteristics and opportunities of each project. Jan works to make a seamless architectural connection of the outdoor and indoor environment by exploring natural materials, scale, texture and color. Her approach centers on the building of a harmonious relationship between human scale and the designed environment.

  • Sohail Khan has been a Project Manager with KEE Architecture since June 1999. Coming from a formal education in Civil and Structural Engineering prior to a Masters in Architecture, his comprehensive approach brings graceful and practical solutions to complex problems. Putting a strong focus on the details from which the user interacts with, his work on projects brings an authentic celebration of enclosure and structure to reality.

  • Liz Hampton, LEED AP ID+C, NCIDQ has been an Interior Designer at KEE Architecture since 2011. After graduating from Harrington College of Design, she practiced for several years in her hometown of Chicago. Always maintaining a passion for the arts, and growing up the daughter of an architect, interior design was a natural career path blending these specialties into the built environment. Being ever mindful of wellness, her goal has always been to create spaces that are not only functional, but also appealing to the eye and often inspired by nature.

  • Aden Sayers, Associate AIA joined KEE Architecture in September of 2017 after graduating from Madison College with an Associates of Architectural Technology. His previous internship with the State of Wisconsin introduced him to the commercial construction administration and connected him to the City of Madison. Aden utilizes his technical skills in BIM modeling and management, practical mindset, and passion for form and function, to design and manage a variety of projects.

  • Allison Eicher, Associate AIA joined KEE in 2019 as an Architectural Designer. She completed her Associates of Architectural Technology from Madison College while gaining applicable design experience through program lead projects and internships. Allison connects her passion for the built environment and desire to learn new technologies and practices, to further push the envelope of what architecture could be.

  • John Ewanowski, AIA, NCARB has combined interests in design and architectural history into a diverse body of work that includes both new construction and historic preservation, creating new urban landscapes that conserve our history while looking into the future. John earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison then went on to study architecture at the University of Michigan. He is licensed to practice architecture in Wisconsin and Utah; serves on the Salt Lake City Historic Landmark Commission; and is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology, International. John splits his time between Madison, where he cheers on the Badgers and takes trips to the family cabin, and Salt Lake City, where he enjoys spending time in the mountains skiing, climbing, and hiking.
