ELECTRONIC THEATRE CONTROLS

Mazomanie, Wisconsin

Significant annual growth led Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) to purchase an existing manufacturing facility 17 miles west of their headquarters. The existing facility was constructed as four separate buildings amounting to over 350,000 square feet. Phased renovations of this facility would accommodate current and future needs for ETC.

Phase I renovated 154,000 square feet into manufacturing and office space, including support spaces such as a woodshop, breakrooms, restrooms, and lounge/recreation areas. The primary goals of the project included creating universal manufacturing space and a clear and expressive arrival sequence which would contribute to the building’s unique “ETC experience”.

The existing conditions needed to be brought up to the high quality of work environment which exist at the headquarters facility. New clerestory glazing and translucent panels responded to an emphasis on daylight and views to the exterior without creating glare on the floor or work surface. The large, open break room transitions the manufacturing floor to the small office space, connecting the different groups of employees. ETC lighting of multiple scales and styles was incorporated throughout.
