WARNER PARK COMMUNITY CENTER

Madison, Wisconsin

KEE Architecture, along with JJR Inc. and BRS Architects, worked intensively with the citizens of the Northside Community to evolve the desired program and design for this 33,000 square foot recreation center in Warner Park. The design is meant to engage the park gently, minimizing the impact of this sizable facility, while optimizing opportunities for interaction between the users and with the natural setting. Programming, site selection and design were accomplished through a series of open design meetings with neighborhood residents and city staff. The building has become very popular and receives diverse neighborhood support. It has been recognized by the design community through state and national awards programs.
