UNIVERSITY of WISCONSIN-OSHKOSH - ELMWOOD STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER

Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Elmwood Commons began its life in 1966 as the sole dining hall at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. In 2002, Foodservice was relocated to a new facility, and Elmwood served as temporary space for offices of various administrative and academic departments.

Following discussion about whether the building should be remodeled or demolished and replaced with a new facility, the renovation (remodeling and addition) approach prevailed.

KEE Architecture was the Prime A/E for the project, providing programming and architectural design services. KEE lead a team of consultants including plumbing, mechanical/electrical, geotechnical and site/civil.

The Elmwood Student Success Center has met the challenges of renovating an existing building while providing important programmed spaces. It has become a new, environmentally friendly landmark on the UW-Oshkosh campus, achieving LEED® Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.®
