UNIVERSITY of WISCONSIN-MADISON - BASCOM HALL RESTORATION
Madison, Wisconsin
This project consisted of rebuilding the East Portico of Bascom Hall, the iconic centerpiece building at the heart of the original UW-Madison campus, which had deteriorated after years of deferred maintenance.
The wood columns were removed and faithfully restored (replicated where necessary) and were installed around new steel columns that support the roof above.
Similar stone was used to replace original material that was unsuitable to retain, tooled and faced to match the original.
