SAUK QUARRY MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING
Madison, Wisconsin
This 12,000 square foot building accommodates the tenancies of three dental specialty practices.
It is situated in the rolling hills of the unglaciated area of Madison’s west side. The land itself is seen as context, giving rise to the multiple barrel roofs, sheathed in a dust green metal roof. By use of a raised foundation wall, the building is partially embedded into undisturbed land, maintaining the floor of surrounding contours.
Construction materials and means are the ordinary. Emphasis through detailing, however, is on revealing and articulating the various components and systems. Building tectonic are seen as rich source of expression.
